The two to-be dads.... trying to figure out just what in the world they're gonna do with one of those things!!
Jennifer and Cat work hard to entertain Savannah. (Her bow is falling out of her hair... but she's okay with it.)
This is what Savannah looked like for most of the trip down to Pensacola.
And now she's asking if Mom will PLEASE get her out of the car seat!! (It's hard to understand with the paci in her mouth... but that's pretty much what she was saying!)
Last weekend was Savannah's first really long trip. We went to Pensacola for Sally and Mary Margaret's baby shower. Sally is having a baby boy, Miles (or a slight possibility his name will be Jake), and Mary Margaret is having a Goat. No word yet on The Goat's name. The baby shower was awesome and they both got some great things!!! I've never seen so many presents in one place!!
All in all - Savannah exceeded all expectations!! The ride down there was a little rough. But we left at her peak awake time, so I guess that's our fault!! I sat in the back with her when she was awake and crawled over the seat and sat up front when she would fall asleep (that was pretty funny... we went in Shane's car and so in order to crawl over the seat I had to take the headrest off the passenger seat and actually crawl over the seat, the middle console part was covered up by Savannah's carseat). And I think I got her out of her seat 3 times during the trip. I know, stupid move. But there's only so much crying you can listen to and not do anything.
Savannah was an angel the whole weekend!! I mean perfect!! (Granted, she's always a good baby... but even good babies have their moments!!) She didn't cry at all and just hung out with all of us. It's like she knew she was meeting our bestest friends and she was on her best behavior!! She watched everyone and partied like a rock star!! And once she passed out... she slept all night!! I guess this is because she never really napped during the day... too much going on! On Friday night she went to sleep about 11 and slept until 7:30!!! Nonstop!! And this even included us picking her up off Sally's bed and driving from Sally's to Janie's and putting her in her pack-and-play. And she never even woke up!!
The ride back was wonderful!! She slept almost the entire ride. She woke up in the middle so we stopped and ate at Cracker Barrel. We took turns holding her while we ate and she was a happy baby. Threw her first fork on the ground!! I'm sure there will be many more forks yet to come!! I sat in the back with her the rest of the way and we both slept pretty good. Luckily, Shane didn't sleep!!
All in all - I think she was impressed with the college crowd!
