Her First Hike

We figured Savannah didn't have enough fun at the pumpkin patch. So we decided to take her on her first hike!! The weather was perfect!! We were going to go up to Monte Sano but decided to try the "mountain" in Madison, it's only about 10 minutes from our house. Although it didn't have the view that Monte Sano has, it was still very pretty! We didn't make it all the way to the end of the trail. We forgot to pay attention to the map and we weren't sure how long the trail was. And it was getting really steep. So we turned around. But we'll definitely go back. It had some great trails to be so close to the house! And Savannah loved it!! She just took it all in and smiled and cooed the whole time!


There were lots of rock formations along the trail. Here is one that we thought was really pretty.

This isn't a great pic of me... but Savannah's really cute in it. I've been told that she's the only one that matters anymore... so here you go. Although, this pic does make us realize that we need a light shield on our camera. You can see a glare over my face... it's a reflection from the sun.
And this pic made me pay more attention to exposure while taking pics. I should have turned it way down here. I'm starting to understand this picture stuff... give me a year and I'll be giving you some really good ones!!

We turned her around in the pack about halfway down the trail. This way she could see all around. She was especially satisfied with this change. She's never liked it before. She's getting so big!!
